Becoming Green eBook Stuart Fox Reviews

This book is a suspensful page turner. It has a unique premise and will keep you interested until the end. Taking place in the Eastern Sierra, centered in Mammoth Lakes, there are factual references interspersed with the story. Hopefully there will be a sequel to tell us the future of the story's characters.
Neat idea encased in a well-written story line with excellent character development. I'm looking forward to a lot more from this author.
Interesting theory and definitely in the science fiction arena. Loved the story and all the characters. Didn't understand all the scientific information and explanations so wish there had been a little less of that and a little more character development. A plus for me was that, since I had lived all my life in both southern and northern California, I could easily relate to all the locations where the story took place. Will there be a sequel?
Fast moving, lots of interesting science and pretty good characters make this book a winner. I'll definitely be looking for more from this author. There are possibilities for sequels that I'd be happy to read if they were as well done.
Fascinating fiction about solar-powered people. This book is satisfying on several levels -- the detailed science that the author says is feasible, the extensive incorporation of natural wonders of the Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains, and (of course) the personal relationships of the hero and heroine.
For those of you like me who thought you had read all the good science fiction written, this book is an exciting discovery. Becoming Green, Stuart Fox's first book is a strong addition to the classical science fiction genre. Mr. Fox exhibits a skilled writing style with multiple plots and a great feel for his characters. The book has a nice pacing and the character dialogue is very realistic providing the reader with the feeling of experiencing the book rather than just reading it.
This book is classical science fiction based on real scientific concept but then expanded to unexpected consequences. This is a writer that I intend to monitor over the coming years.
This book makes you think about so many interesting things. It is well written and the science it not too boring or hard to understand. Characters are very likable and realistic except the few who are not meant to be of course. We must have villains.
What would we do if something like this really happened. How would we feel, would some want to be like them or just take the Greens as a threat and destroy them. Interesting. Lots to think about. I do recommend this book to all and I am interested in anything else this author puts out.
When the usual genius -- and more than slightly mad -- scientist decides he knows how to improve the human race, the fun begins. And this was a fun book to read. If allowed, I'd give it a 3.5. The characters are likable, except for the mad scientist, of course, and the story of how the plague unfolds is first rate. Also those who prefer their science fiction heavy on the science end will appreciate this book.

The flaws that kept this from being higher rated include some strange grammar and tense errors that kept pulling me out of the story, as well as errors in punctuation. The villain is a cardboard figure and it's hard to believe any real scientist would have launched such an extreme experiment and then just walked away. A little too much explaining slows the pace so that the book drags toward the end.

Still, the "change" is fascinating, and you'll end up rooting for the "green" team.
